Lower Leas Coastal Park 2000
Location : Lower Leas, Folkestone, Kent
Materials : Green English Oak
Commissioned by: Shepway District Council/Sustrans

Crataegus Monogyna is one of three sculptural seats commissioned for phase one of the development of the Lower Leas Coastal Park. The carved elements of the seat celebrate one of the scrubland trees found at the site - the Hawthorn.

Woodland Seat is situated on the edge of a wild copse of trees twisted and weathered by the sea wind.

Seed heads of wild grasses that grow on this site are carved into the back-rest of Four Grasses, situated in an undulating grassed area of the Lower Leas.
